This Daytona is well known in wing car club circles and has been present at at many national wing car meets over the last four decades.   It is an exceptional opportunity,   and a very nice piece.

The Daytona was delivered new in Washington State in 1969 as Hemi Orange with a white stripe.  It is listed on the original Daytona shipments list provided by Creative Industries.

In the early days, the original owner painted the car a slightly darker orange with gold accents to match his drag boat and used it as sort of a show rig.    He retained the car until 1979, when he sold it to his cousin for full sticker price.   Six months later in October 1979, my father bought the car with 59,000 miles on the clock, and drove it home was Chehalis Washington to Milwaukee where it has stayed for the last twenty nine years.   Currently the car has 71,000 miles.

Aside from the wheels, the car is in time-warp condition and is virtually untouched.    It is absolutely rust free top to bottom and retains all its original body panels with the exception of the hood. All trim is present including the impossible to find rear window mouldings and front wheel trim.

Powered by the original numbers matching 440-4bbl, and backed with the original A-833 Chrysler four speed, the car recently completed a 200 mile road trip and is in good mechanical order.     The engine was rebuilt in the mid 1980's.   The transmission and original 3.54 Dana rear axle were out of the car and professionally serviced in 2001.

The interior is in excellent condition and retains its original carpets date coded for 4/2/69.    The car has an AM 8-track.

The trunk contains the original redline spare, original trunk mat and both jacks.  The light package trunk lamp is visible along with the original Hemi Orange paint.   Also visible inside the trunk is material from the original white tail stripe wrapped around the side marker openings.

This car could be sympathetically preserved as-is, or restored to your specifications in a very short amount of time.     There is a tremendous up side in that no components need to be sourced.  Everything is there.  Nothing is missing.    There are no holes in its history and the original owner in Washington is alive.   Priced at $129,000,  the car simply stated is a great opportunity for the next owner.   This is a very honest car that will not dissapoint you.
