Wing Cars Visit Road America
In October 1998, we visited Road America in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin for the annual Alfa Romeo club track event.   This event is open to all makes, and gives owners a chance to exercise their cars on one of the finest road courses in America.

Road America is four miles of twists and turns along with three straightaways nearly in a mile in length.

Some cars like Jim Fuch's Ferrari F40 took part in flat out timed runs.  Our four Superbirds took part in the afternoon touring sessions at reduced but brisk speeds.  Enough to get your brakes warm, for sure.   Here are some photos of the event.
Jim Fuch's Ferrari F40 slots in with our Birds.  Jim used to own a Road Runner in college.
Wile E Coyote would surely catch the Road Runner with an F40 at his disposal.
Glen Peters' Petty replica Bird at speed on track.
Glen blew through a set of new front brake pads in one high speed touring session.    We all really laughed at the sight of the backing plate.  Glen really enjoys using his Bird, that's for sure!
JoAnne Nabor's 440 4-speed Superbird charges up the front straight at 100+ mph.  Driving instructor Frank Rhodes is in the passenger seat.
